The following are some of the web designs that I've done, both for myself
and for others.
I don't use Flash or advanced DHTML/CSS, because I strongly believe that the more basic the technology you use,
the wider the audience you can reach; and that
you can have good web design without having to use all the latest scripts, languages, or
plug-ins.
My university's computer labs still use Netscape 4, and that is
proof enough for me that not everyone uses the latest browser and has cable connections.
I use good ol' Notepad (or gVim) and Photoshop for all of these.

First layout of apsylus.com. Old design sense, even older art. Scary. 1999.
|
 |
| |
Second layout of apsylus.com. Went for something simpler this time. 2000.
|
 |
| |
Third layout of apsylus.com. By now I've already established my ideal design concept: simple, yet effective. 2001.

 |
| |
An unused design. After all the simple designs, I was tempted to try something more complicated.
I never had time to implement this layout though, and by the time I did, I felt that the layout was
too complex, and that it would take away from the main content of the site. 2002.

The fourth, and current, layout of apsylus.com. My goal was to make a layout as simple as
was humanly possible, while still retaining style. To achieve the level of simplicity I wanted,
I reverted to text links for the site contents. 2003.

Vallis Alpes
Design for a school assignment. We were free to pick our own website topic,
and so I went for astronomy. 2001.

| |
Layout for the website of Loyola College High School, Semarang, Indonesia. Unfortunately, the school lacked
staff to maintain the website, and it went down. The goal was to create the lightest, fastest-loading page possible,
while still showing class,
as most of the prospective site visitors were on very slow dial-up connections. 2000.

Silent Prayer
Layout of Silent Prayer. I wanted something... brown. 2001.

Parama Graha Apartments
Design for Parama Graha Apartments, Semarang, Indonesia. The goal was to create a website as the online representation of the
apartments, for prospective tenants both local and international, a site that share the same elegance and feel with the apartments. 2003.

 |
| |
Done for a database assignment. The design was not a major part, so I kinda swiped myself
and made something similar to the website of Parama Graha Apartments, above. In addition to the design, I was involved in the database programming for
this music CD site. 2004.

PT Anugerah Batualam Industri
Done for a quarry in Indonesia, this site's main aim is to provide information for potential investors and consumers. It had to be gimmick-free and honest, and the simple design is again necessary for the lack of high speed internet in Indonesia, where a significant part of the target market is. 2005.

Michelle Bakery
Done for a new bakery in Bogor, Indonesia. In addition to the site, I also did the design of the logo that is used for the packaging. I'm happy to say that this bakery is currently doing very well. 2005.
